vampire weekend - a punk
the equivalent to “blind” by hercules & love affair this year!
instead of instantly likable, while still growing with every listen, this song was already getting on my nerves when i heard it for the first time and it gets worse and worse with each listen! by the way, that “geek chic” is NOT cool at all! just because you’re supposed to be making indie music, doesn’t mean you can get away with wearing pullovers in the style of ralph lauren and tommy hilfiger! weezer filled that geek-slot with much better taste in clothes more than 15 years ago and got away with it, but there is no room for any more persons in that niche!
vampire weekend are hopefully just one of the ‘08 hypes that will fade away very, very soon…
